dana's wanderlust*

A Wellesley alum, studying Public Health at Cambridge and preparing to start medical school at HMS this fall.

A string of thoughts to keep me grounded,
as I strive to give back to the world--
not with naive idealism, but with critical optimism.

An experienced truth: so humbling, yet so piercing.

Paul Farmer’s words are so beautifully adorned with an experienced truth (neither observed nor imposed).

I want to be an attorney for the poor. I want to dedicate my life to advocating for those occupying the bottom rung of the social ladder and those embodying the unjust social conditions that inevitably shape their poor health.

Hard work can overcome hard luck, but what if your hard work is unrecognized? or if you are never given a chance to overcome that hard luck? for justice doesn’t exist, and without it, you cannot climb the ladder?
