dana's wanderlust*

A Wellesley alum, studying Public Health at Cambridge and preparing to start medical school at HMS this fall.

A string of thoughts to keep me grounded,
as I strive to give back to the world--
not with naive idealism, but with critical optimism.

Humility.

“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.” - 2 Chronicles 20:15-17

These words felt so real almost four years ago, when I first entered Wellesley and had my first bible study group meeting. I remember tearing up… because I felt so blessed to be where I was four years ago despite all the struggles I had endured.

Since then, I’ve changed.

Now I am realizing that it was so foolish of me to set aside my humility in order to embrace overconfidence.

My strength should not be based on my confidence in myself.
No, I will not be afraid because I am faithfully following the plan.
