dana's wanderlust*

A Wellesley alum, studying Public Health at Cambridge and preparing to start medical school at HMS this fall.

A string of thoughts to keep me grounded,
as I strive to give back to the world--
not with naive idealism, but with critical optimism.

Got back home at 2:30am from Trinity Hall June Event, found myself in bed at 4:00am, and woke up at 9am, barely an hour before my thesis presentation. Finished putting together my slides on the bus. I pulled it off somehow, and the best comment I received today was: “Dana, I really admire your huge ambition for this project, but…”

It was a stressful morning.

Now, I am having a well-deserved tea break/me-time in the cafeteria at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital. It’s really crowded with patients and docs, but I feel very relaxed.

By the way, my baby seastar arrived in Guatemala yesterday. I am really sad that I can’t be there with her, but am also excited to watch her learn and grow with the people of our village.

It’s raining… again… in Cambridge. I want to be in bed and snuggle with my teddies… while watching Mona Lisa Smile.
